  Daniel Blodgett, born 19 Jan 1709/10 in Woburn, MA; died 24 Feb 1793 in Stafford, CT.  He was the son of  Daniel Blodgett and  Mary Mallett.  He married  Debra Ellsworth 16 Nov 1732.
      Debra Ellsworth, born 24 Sep 1714 in Hartford, CT; died 03 Mar 1793 in Stafford, CT.  She was the daughter of Thoma Ellsworth and  Sarah Mills.

Notes for Daniel Blodgett:
Daniel moved from Woburn to Stafford in 1719 with his parents. From Old Windsor records: - "Daniel Blodgit Jr. and Deborah Ellsworth Blodgit his wife, in connection with Nath’l Ellsworth and William Ellsworth both of Windsor, and several other parties, convey to Ebenezer Bliss of Windsor for £300, two parcels of land in Windsor, on the East side of the Great River, etc...Dec 19, 1749."
    From Colonial Records of Connecticut: - "Daniel Blodgett, Lieut. 7tj Company, 5th Reg’t, 1752." "Daniel Blodgett of Stafford, Conservator of person and estate of an imbecile, 1765."
    From Stafford (Conn.) Probate records, v. IV:-Daniel Blodgett of Stafford in his Will mentions: "Loving wife Deborah, son John, Heirs of son late of Stafford, Dec’d, Heirs of son Nathan, dec’d. Heirs of son Seth late of Stafford, Dec’d, son Benjamin, son Samuel, daughter Mary Edson, son-in-law Levi Edson...Mentions a lot in Cedar Swamp originally owned by his Hon. Father." Capt’ John Holmes, Executor, dated Dec. 25, 1792, proved March 7, 1793, Estate distributed March 22, 1794.

        i.    John Blodgett, born 16 Aug 1733 in Stafford, CT; married Irene Robinson 04 Dec 1755; born 01 Nov 1733 in Windah, CT.

Notes for John Blodgett:
John moved from Stafford soon after the Revolutionary War. He was Captain of a "Trainband in Colonial days and held a commission under King George III. He took the "Oath of Fidelity" to the State of Connecticut Sept. 20, 1777, and was Captain of a Company in the Revolutionary War. -Conn. Rev. War Rolls. He settled first in Amherst (Mass.) and later in Claremount (N.H.). There is a record that his wife joined the Church in Claremount in 1808. She died there April 12, 1813, and her husband followed her April 13, 1813. Both were in their eightieth year, and both are buried in the "Old Cemetery" at Claremount.

        iii.    Daniel Blodgett, born 13 Oct 1738.
       iv.    Daniel Blodgett, born 13 Oct 1739 in Stafford, CT; died 12 Nov 1776 in New York, NY; married Lydia Robinson 27 Nov 1760.
        v.    Nathan Blodgett, born 25 Oct 1741 in Stafford, CT; married Abigail Cushman 21 Apr 1763.

Notes for Nathan Blodgett:
Nathan died, no record, but after 1790 (Federal Census): he was a Private in Capt. Grant’s Company, Col. Johnson’s Reg’t. -Rev. War Records. His wife died, no record, but after 1840, as she is mentioned in Stafford Records of that year as a "Pensioner."


        vi.    Seth Blodgett, born 27 Nov 1742 in Stafford, CT; died 04 Mar 1779; married Susannah Orcutt 28 Jun 1764.

Notes for Seth Blodgett:
There is no record of his wife’s death. She may have stayed on in Stafford with her son Timothy, or gone to Randolph (Vt.) with Sylvanus and Seth and her daughters.
    Stafford Records: - Susannah Blodget of Stafford leases to John Orcutt of Stafford, the land which was distributed to her as thirds or dower out of the estate of Mr. Seth Blodget, late of Stafford, dec’d (Her husband)---April 22, 1800.
    "Sylvanus Blodget of Stafford conveys to Tim (Timothy) Blodget of Stafford all the lands distributed to him out of the estate of his Honored Father Mr. Seth Blodget of Stafford. Dec’d, and all rights of his Mother’s thirds, also all the lands he purchased of William and Hannah Edgerton, being the whole of the lands distributed to Hannah Blodget, the wife of William Edgerton."--Feb. 12, 1799. Likewise Seth and Giles convey their rights in their "Hon. Grandfather Lieut. Daniel Blodgett’s estate to Samuel Blodgett and Levi Edison. --1796

        viii.    Samuel Blodgett, born 17 Feb 1747/48 in Stafford, CT; died 29 Aug 1839 in Stafford, CT; married Abigail Bixby 22 Jan 1784; died 12 Jul 1844 in Stafford, CT.

Rev. War Rolls of New York State: - "In James Clinton’s Reg’t 3rd Regulars, Orange County, William Blodget, age 28 b. Conn., Sadler, 5ft. 8 in., light brown hair, blue eyes.
