Daniel Blodgett, born 25 Jan 1763 in Stafford, CT. He was the son of Daniel Blodgett and Lydia Robinson. He married Mary Bliss 01 Apr 1784.
Mary Bliss, born 1765 in Hartland, VT; died 20 Oct 1799 in Chelsea, VT.

Among the Grantees of Lebanon (N.H.) about 1761, was "Daniel Blodgett ye 3d" who was Daniel father of Daniel. The latter went to Lebanon with his older brother Nathan about 1783 and they were the first settlers of the town. Daniel was listed as a farmer and tavern-keeper and was assesed in Lebanon from 1787 to 1793. He moved to Chelsea (Vt.) and settled there about 1791, as the birth of a daughter on May 24th of that year is recored there. He was assessed in Chelsea from 1791 to 1833. His death is not recorded but occured probably in 1833 or ’34.

Bliss farmed in Chelsea (Vt.) for a short time, and in 1805, he moved to Bucksport (Me.) where he became a merchant. In 1816, he united with the Congregational Church, and in 1826 was elected Deacon, and held that office until his death.

iii. Polly Blodgett, born 16 Dec 1788; died 21 Jul 1834; married Jonas Huntington 08 Mar 1807.
iv. Lydia Blodgett, born 24 May 1791; married Theophilus Burgess 23 Jan 1812.
v. John Blodgett, born 14 May 1793 in Chelsea, VT; died 05 Sep 1826 in Conneaut, OH; married Anna Abbott 26 Sep 1819.

John "was a well-known traveling minister of the Christian Church. He traveled on horseback through New York, New Jersey and Ohio, planting and encouraging churches. He died early in life (at the age of 33) undoubtedly from exposure in his apostolic work, traveling as he did, long distance through sparsely settled, rough country and fording many rivers." From account written by a grandson, Herbert T. Blodgett.

Bela appears to have lived in Boston for some years, probably moving there sometime in the 1840’s. His name appears in Chelsea records in 1817 and in 1836. In 1850 it appears as "Bela Blodgett and wife from Boston."
