Why research your Family?
March 6, 2008
I started looking into my Family History at the request of my Great Aunt Eva, who was born in 1920. She wanted information on her Maternal Grandmother, for whom she had only a first name. With a bit of looking we gave her a full name, Emma Olanna Kemp, and a bit of history, she was born in Canada of an English father and a Canadian mother. She had 5 children, lived in Piermont NH and Bradford VT, among other places. When she finally passed away, in 1897, she was buried in Haverhill NH, not far from the stone quarry her husband Sylvester worked in. This brought Aunt Eva much joy, which she shares with her family. From there it has sprouted much like a tree does, perhaps a Willow, as it is my Mother's favorite, and through the act of researching I have discovered much of my Family, and even met some I would never have known.
